PRESENTE - SIMPLE PRESENT

The Simple Present is used to talk about things, people and general situation in the Present or even in the Future.

Eg.: Minha casa é muito grande/ My house is very big
       Eles moram numa casa grande/They live in a big house.
       Ela vai à praia todos os sábados/ She goes to the beach every Saturday.
       Nós vamos para São Paulo amanhã/We are going to São Paulo tomorrow.

     Regular Verbs
     There are three main Conjugations in Portuguese.

     first - verbs ending in ar
     second - verbs ending in er
     third - verbs ending in ir

     *** ar/er/ir form the infinitive of the verbs.

  FIRST CONJUGATION - AR

 TRABALHAR/ TO WORK 


 Eu                      trabalho
Você/Ele/Ela      trabalha

 Vocês/Eles/Elas trabalham


MORAR/TO LIVE

 Eu                      moro
Você/Ele/Ela      mora

ACORDAR/TO WAKE UP

Você/Ele/Ela       acorda
Nós                      acordamos
 Vocês/Eles/Elas acordam.

*** Regular verbs ending in "ar" follow the same pattern - o/a/amos/am.

Amanda: Ah, legal! Eu estudo direito, vou ser advogada.
Lucas:     Você mora perto daqui?
Amanda: Não, eu moro bem longe daqui.
Lucas:     A que horas você acorda?
Amanda: Acordo super cedo, às 5 horas e você?
Lucas:     Não tão cedo. Eu acordo às 8. Eu estudo à noite.
Amanda: Tenho que ir agora. Tchau!
Lucas:     Tchau!
